Miraculous Living
“Don’t wait for some miracle to be performed on you from without, lifting you above your fears and doubts and self-centeredness. You help God from within by turning in outgoing love to others, and miraculously your fears and doubts and self-centeredness will vanish. The miracle starts within, not from without.”
And what is this love? It is not some kind of mushy sentimentality. It has no strings attached; it is not given in order to receive something in return. It is not conditional. And it's purpose is not to make you feel good about yourself, although it probably will.
You cannot produce love through the efforts of the ego alone. Love flows through you when you connect with a higher state of awareness, Divine love.
Love is not a feeling; love is action.
You are a channel of God's loving action in the world. You can either block that channel with fears and doubts, or by holding on to anger or bitterness, pride or greed, or you can open that channel by uniting with Spirit and the greater good within.
And how do you unite with Spirit? Through prayer, meditation, and other spiritual practices.
How do you ask the sun for sunlight? By getting out into the sun. How do you ask electricity for light for your lamp? By turning on the switch. How do you "ask" God for what you want? By getting into the Spirit. It is not something that God must do for you. It is what you must do for yourself to enable God to do for you that which it is His ceaseless longing to do. How can you know that the channel is open? "You will know them by their fruits." (Matthew 7:16)
