Perturbing Projections

Tap. Tap. TapTapTap. Tap. Tap.

What's that noise? It's the sound of a ferocious robin battling his reflection in the window.

For days it started at sunrise and lasted until the sun rose high in the sky.

What is that well-known definition of insanity? Something about doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results?

Finally, I figured out that if I put a large piece of white paper in the window the robin would no longer see his reflection and he could stop the madness. It worked!

Now if only it were that easy for human beings to withdraw their projections and stop attacking one another.

"Many of the faults you see in others, dear reader,
are your own nature reflected in them."
--Mevlana Rumi (1207 - 1273)
